Jelly Belly p/b Kenda heads to South Korea this week for a nine-stage race covering 1,400 kilometers.
The team won the yellow jersey and the team general classification in Korea last year and is looking for a repeat victory, as well as some valuable training time for the upcoming Amgen Tour of California in May.
“I think this will be the best preparation for the Amgen Tour of California,” said team director Danny Van Haute. “We’ll have nine days of racing, which we can’t get in the U.S. right now. There are many stages in Korea that are 180 to 200 kilometers long with 3- to 8-kilometer climbs every day.”
Riders Sean Mazich, Sergio Hernandez, Ken Hanson, Alex Hagman, Nic Hamilton and Will Dickeson will be looking for podium finishes for Jelly Belly p/b Kenda.
“We can’t wait to repeat the win we had last year,” Van Haute said.
