Nerves were in the air. The riders knew what they were in for.
It was the morning of Navy SEALs training. The team set out for Coronado Island where the outside temperature was 50 degrees. The ocean was just as cold.
They were tasked with hoisting heavy weights all together and huddling close to stay cold. And the more team effort the Jelly Belly riders put into the workouts, the stronger they became.
At the end — three hours later — the exhausted riders began to smile and laugh. In the car, on the way to warmth and food, they couldn’t stop talking about the experience with each other.
And that was exactly the point.
